March for Our Lives Billboard
Like many others, my world was rocked on the day of the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. With a high-school aged sister at home, I found myself almost inconsolable. In a flurry of anger and frustration, I quickly created a piece on my iPad Pro to share on social media along with a small fundraiser for the victims.
After receiving an overwhelming response from my own social circle, I submitted the piece to a call for entries from AdAge. They accepted the piece and presented it as a digital download on their website. A few weeks later, they contacted me for permission to use the graphic as a digital billboard across the United States, with a hero placement in Times Square on the day of the March for Our Lives. Since then, the design has been used by local chapters of the March for Our Lives organization to promote events and lobby congress for gun reform.
